As of February 26, 2020, a new password security policy applies to EACAT to comply with the security standards of the AOC Consortium. Passwords must meet the following requirements:
- Do not contain the username or parts of the name that exceed two consecutive characters.
- Have at least 8 characters.
- Include characters from at least three of the following four categories:
- capital letters (AZ)
- lower case (az)
- digits (0 to 9)
- non-alphabetic characters (!, $, #, %).
Also, all passwords must be renewed every 60 days and cannot be one of the last 10 passwords used.
However, EACAT can also be accessed with a Digital Certificate (T-Cat), which facilitates password management.
